This weekend it was time to kick off the WBC cup. The first round was held at the HB/Orion Raceway in Kallinge, Sweden.

The host club Karlskrona MRK had organized the service during the race weekend very well and the race was beautifully managed as always with the WBC cup.
We got off to a good start and already in the seeding practice it was clear that the XRAY drivers were going to be sucessful. All the top three after seeding were XRAY cars with Alexander leading the way followed by Elias Johansson and Malin Karlsen.In the qualifying rounds the battle was to be between Alexander and Malin where Malin was able to take the first round comfortably as Alexander had a couple of incidents and finished second. The second round went to Alexander as Malin finished second. Third round again went to Malin who upped the pace a bit and Alexander finished in second. It was all going to come down to the last round to decide which XRAY should go on the first square in the triple A-mains. In the final round both drivers got off to a good start and Alexander gained an early but slim lead, sadly he had a accident of losing the left front wheel while going down the straight which made it a challenge to make a hard right at the end of the straight while running in that configuration, so game over and the TQ went to Malin who well deserved it with the pace she had been showing.
Going in to the finals it was again an XRAY top three with Alexander, Malin and now with Hugo Bjurman, putting his XB4 in the third place for the triple A-mains.
The first final got off to an uneventful start and the field kept its spots more or less for the first couple of laps. Malin was going fast out front, but made a mistake in the in-field section and let Alexander and two more cars by. Malin quickly recovered and has catched up to Alexander and started to put pressure on him. They were clinched in an intense battle for almost three minutes but Alexander was able to stay ahead to clinch the first round by 0,25 seconds.
The second round saw pretty much the same start and Malin was able to create a small gap in the first few laps, however a mistake in the in-field section meant that she had to let Alexander by once more, now with little less than four minutes to go. Again the chase was on and the two drivers put on a great show of high speed and close but respectful racing. In the end Malin made a mistake on the table-top jump and had to concede second place to Sebastian Johansson who had closed in on the leaders while they were battling each other. This meant that Alexander won the second round as well, and with that the whole event.
Alexander decided to sit out the third round and Malin got off to a good start and never looked back showing her great pace and taking the final round finishing second overall.
